GREENPEACE: Your vote is needed to rebrand BP!

From Greenpeace Int'l
GREENPEACE International July 2010

We asked you to help us rebrand BP by designing a logo that better suits their dirty business. Now it's time for you to choose a winner.

There are four categories but the winner of 'Best Re-branded Logo' may be used in Greenpeace campaigning! Please vote for your favourite and share them widely - what better way to contribute to BP's 'image problems'?

Do you want to (actually) move beyond petroleum?

Do you want an end to our reliance on dirty, deadly fuels? Do you want a world without devastating oil spills, toxic coal plants, and hazardous radioactive waste?

Pledge to use your power as a citizen, voter and consumer to create a green and peaceful future. Encourage others to make the pledge: Tweet or Share on Facebook

Put Solar on it!

On October 10th, 2010, people all over the world will be joining a global work party in what could be the biggest day of climate action ever

More than a thousand events are planned: to put up solar panels, install wind turbines, plant urban gardens, and take other action to create a green energy future.

We're teaming up with our friends at 350 and 10:10 to ask that world leaders lead by installing solar panels on their own rooftops and on their government buildings.

Add your voice here and demand our politicians roll up their own sleeves with us. If you want to join or start your own work party on October 10th, sign up here.

25 year anniversary of Rainbow Warrior sinking

25 years ago French agents bombed and sank the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior - killing photographer Fernando Pereira in the process.

For the past 21 years the Rainbow Warrior II continued the tradition of bearing witness and acting to protect our planet that began with the original ship - and now it is time for a new warrior. We are building the world's first purpose-built environmental campaigning ship - the Rainbow Warrior III.

Look back on the history of the Rainbow Warrior:

What the Dell?

The consumer electronics industry is making progress on eliminating the use of toxic chemicals from their products.

But, Dell was penalized in the latest Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics for backtracking on its commitments to eliminate toxic PVC plastic and brominated flame retardants (BFRs) from its products, despite the fact that many of its competitors have already done so.

Dell can do better. Tell CEO Michael Dell to honour his commitments and phase out the use of toxic chemicals. And then help us spread the word: Tweet @Dell or Share on Facebook

To a green and peaceful future,

Everyone,
